Adequate rest will allow you to keep your metabolism fired up, and it will also give you the energy for those weekly workouts. Aim for no less than seven hours of sleep per night.

Eat your veggies, and fruits too. A lot of diet plans say the same thing- because it's time-tested advice that works. Switch to whole grain foods. Why? Fiber is an essential part of any low-calorie diet.If your diet is rich in whole grains, you'll enjoy steady blood sugar and energy levels throughout the day. They also keep you full longer, and they are relatively low calorie.

There are some foods that boost metabolism naturally. Oatmeal, spicy foods, and green tea will all raise your body's natural calorie-burning abilities. Incorporate them into your diet for a natural calorie-burning boost.
