We all know by now that an acai berry is a minute purple berry that is grown only in the rainforests of Brazil. They have also found in another current study a purified form of anthocyanins was given to laboratory mice. This study concluded that the mice in the control group who received the purified anthocyanins were able to lower their body fat and maintain it whereas the group of mice that were given the placebo and another group of mice that were given the actual fruit did not.

Acai berries are rich in these two vital flavonoids and other crucial antioxidants and nutrients also. This little berry contains more than 30 times the amount of anthocyanins that is present in red wine.
