Who on earth would wish to lose weight slowly? Nobody as far as I know. That is why it's important to be aware of the fast weight loss diets that can help you to reach your target weight and get rid of the excess fat. Let's take a closer look and find out what are the best diets giving the greatest sustainable weight loss.

The Cabbage Soup Diet

This diet uses cabbage as pretty much the only ingredient. You eat this over a period of seven days.

Some people have managed a huge 10 pound fat loss in barely a week when following this diet. But it soon goes back on afterwards which makes most people believe that it was just water that was lost.

But when you consider everything, this diet is OK because it's designed to be followed only for a single week. Do not go any longer than that or you will risk malnutrition.

Low GI Diet

All types of food have something called a glycemic index. It's a measure of how fast the food delivers energy. The idea with this diet is that you eat more slow burning foods.

Actually this diet works fairly well. By eliminating white bread, white sugar and anything that is refined, it is much easier to stop yourself from getting hungry.

Overall this is a decent diet but there is one drawback. The weight loss is not particularly fast compared to other diets.

My Diet Plan

This year, I lost 44 pounds in 4 months. The amazing thing about it was the way that I did it.

First, I started to listen to my body and my hunger. These days I stop eating food when I am no longer hungry and I only eat whenever I feel hungry. Sounds simple and it really is.

Secondly, I now eat better than before. I get a good breakfast every morning consisting of low glycemic index foods and fruit. I'm no vegetarian though and I can still eat junk food whenever I feel like it. - 17269
