Suffering From Vitamin Deficiency

By Weber Hoffer

For us to keep our body and minds healthy and in good shape, we need to provide them with the vital nutrients and food they require. Vitamins are essential for the development of we humans and all life in the planet, their name clearly implies that.

Most of us get the vitamins we need from our food and dietary regime, but there are cases when people aren't able to obtain the vitamins, not only because of malnutrition but also as a result of conditions such as malabsorption and certain diets that are not complete.

An example of diets and deficiencies are the vegan and vegetarian diets. They are promoted for a healthier living, but you must know that over time following them, you'll develop a vitamin B12 deficiency since it is only found in animal food. In this case, you'll need supplementation.

What can occur if we don't obtain enough vitamins? Over time we'll develop the signs of vitamin deficiency. These symptoms will vary greatly depending on which vitamin are we talking about. For example a D deficiency will lead to poor bone and muscle development.

Deficiencies of vitamins need to be treated with good supplementation. Over a period of time and according to the severity the signs will start to vanish and we'll enjoy good health again, for this it is essential proper evaluation.

There are different types of supplementation, from oral supplementation in the form of pills or sublingual vitamin to injections that go right away to the bloodstream. Vitamin B12 shots are sued to elevate energy levels.

It is important to know that the symptoms of vitamin deficiencies are not exclusive to them, some symptoms can be a sign of other underlying problems, so the best idea is to go visit your doctor and go through all proper testing to see if you are indeed having a vitamin deficiency. - 17269
