They are helpful in our bodies because they assist in the digestion of other components that are found in the food we eat food and help us remain healthy. Minerals alone are not adequate enough to give you the strength you need so other energy giving foods are needed in you body. Vitamins help in the absorption of food and not taking enough can lead to some serious diseases.

The vitamins help the body function properly and also prevent diseases therefore they keep you healthy. They also help the body to produce hormones and the components in your body that are hereditary. You only need to take small amounts of vitamins for the body to work properly. The recommended amount should be taken everyday for good growth.

There are times when the amount that you get from food is not enough therefore you may need to take some supplements. These supplements are manufactured in industries. The supplements are supposed to be taken together with natural foods and not as a substitute for food. Taking more than the recommended amount can lead to serious health complications for you. Before you start taking vitamin supplements, make sure you get adequate information from a dietician.
