What Is Teriyaki Sauce?

A traditional Japanese sauce, teriyaki sauce has won great popularity in the western cultures. It is a sweet sauce, utilized as either a garnish or a marinade for meats, vegetables and rice. It can be used as a dipping sauce as well, giving it a flexibility that makes it suitable as an addition to many cuisines.

Every ingredient should be washed and rinsed, then ground or chopped before mixture. Because they will be cooked with the vegetables or meat, many teriyaki sauces are not cooked. Several ingredients will be used based on if it's a modern or traditional teriyaki sauce.

Teriyaki sauce is traditionally utilized as a marinade. Teriyaki is a type of cooking process in Japan, with the teriyaki sauce being the sweet marmalade that the meat or vegetables are coated in. Ofttimes, teriyaki techniques are set aside for white meats such as chicken and fish, and as for fish, yskipjack tuna, salmon, yellowtail, marlin, trout and mackerel are mainly used.

Teriyaki sauce tends to be a reference to similar style of sauce utilized in the teriyaki way of cooking in cultures of the west.
