Four Tips That Assist To Display Our Six-Pack

By Rob Molloy

If I were to say to you that you can get six-pack abs straight from your kitchen in four steps, the chances are you'd think I was joking. When I first heard this I also had my doubts but if you think about it, it's absolutely true. After all, you can work out as much as you like and exercise as often as you wish in order to get a rock hard six-pack, but if it's hidden behind belly fat, you won't be able to see it and neither will anyone else. The only way you're going to be able to flaunt your six-pack, is by getting rid of any belly fat you have.

No matter what some products claim, the only way you're going to get six-pack abs, is through diet and hard work. Another fact you need to be aware of, is that in order to reach a point where your abs actually become visible, your body fat percentage needs to be very low. In fact, men need to reduce their body fat to 10% or lower while woman on the other hand, need to get theirs below 14%. For most people, reducing body fat to such an extent requires urgent changes to their diets.

So, how is it possible to get six-pack abs straight from the kitchen in 4 easy steps? Let's take a look at calories first. The most effective means of getting rid of fat is by depriving ourselves of calories. Providing your daily calorie intake is less than your body requires in its present state, you'll lose weight. For example, if your aim is to lose one pound of fat each week, then you'll need to ensure you're eating 500 calories less each day than you do presently. This is based on the fact that a pound of fat contains more or less 3500 calories. Also, the more exercise you do, the more energy your body requires and if you're not providing sufficient calories, your body will be forced into burning fat instead, in order to meet the demand for energy.

Here are 4 things that you can do in the kitchen to put you in that calories deficit and make it more likely for you to have your six pack abs revealed.

1. Carbs are one of the bodies best sources of fuel and you can be rest assured, your body will always burn carbs before it starts burning fat. Of course, we can use this to our advantage if we want to lose weight because we know that if there are no carbs to burn, your body has to start burning some of its fat reserves. The less carbs you have in your diet, the more fat your body will burn. Unfortunately, if you're trying to build muscle, eliminating carbs is not something you want to do because they are the best single form of energy available. However, cutting carbs out of your diet never fails to deliver impressive results as far as fat loss is concerned.

2. Unfortunately for some, a diet most often results in muscle loss in addition to fat loss. This is a natural response of the body when it's denied an adequate supply of fuel, such as cutting the carbs out of your diet. Therefore, it's absolutely essential for you to eat lots of protein in order to substitute the carbs you're not getting. For the purpose of increasing muscle mass, more or less 20 to 30% of your daily diet should be protein. However, if you're cutting out your carbs then you need to increase this so that at least 40% of your diet is protein. One word or caution though, is that you still need to keep an eye on your calorie intake, always keeping in mind that while you're on diet, you need to eat less than what your body actually requires.

3. As you've more than likely already heard, there are both good fats and bad fats in various foods. Cutting out as much bad fat as possible is essential, even for those who are not on a diet but particularly for those who are. On the other hand, you need to focus on increasing the amount of good fats you eat as these help to increase your metabolism which has a direct impact on the rate at which your body burns fat. Unlike bad fats which can be used for energy and which are therefore stored by the body, good fats cannot be used for energy and are never stored.

4. Drink more water. Your body is 70% water and needs plenty of it to function properly. When it feels that it isn't going to be getting enough it stores whatever water you give it to make sure it has some in reserve. When you drink a lot of water not only does it do a great job of cleaning your body out but it also has little need to store it. Drinking water will also help you feel full, so drink lots of it throughout the day. - 17269

Understanding The Dangers Of The Three Day Diet

By Ron

The 3 Day Diet dates back to 1985 and today can be found all over the Internet and on book store shelves. The three day diet and its variants promise quick weight loss, a cleansing of the system, lower cholesterol and increased energy all through a specific metabolic reaction that no version of the diet has ever explained.

The diet goes on for three days and then off for four or five with lots of specific and cryptic steps so that when it fails the dieter can be pinned for doing something wrong.

Breakfast on the very first day comes with a cup of coffee (no sugar), one half a grapefruit, and a slice of toast with one tablespoon peanut butter. For lunch, you are allowed a can of tuna, a slice of toast, and black coffee. For dinner it's 3ozs of lean meat or chicken, one cup of green beans, one cup of carrots, one apple, and one cup of regular vanilla ice cream.

The following two days of the diet are pretty similar in meal quantity, though the specifics change, for example Day 2 recommends two beef franks for dinner in place of three ounces of lean meat. Supposedly it's possible to lose as much as 10 pounds in only three days.

Hogwash is the answer. The issue is what is a specific reaction to that claim? As stated the metabolic reaction has never been examined much less proven. Any weight loss would be mostly water loss due to a lack of carbohydrates in the body which help the body to hold the water that we all need. At the end of the day this can lead to dehydration which is not desirable for our bodies to function correctly.

Because of binge eating after such starvation and because most of the weight lost is from water, the weight will rapidly return after only the three days. Furthermore, this amount of water loss could result in some serious medical problems one being dehydration. This is when the diet might be useful, then you'd lose some real weight in the hospital.

The three day diet should really be treated as a no day diet. In other words, don't do it unless you wish to suffer many other conditions that could possibly be caused by over use of this diet. - 17269

Is it Feasible For Our Brain To Regulate Our Muscle Size?

By Rob Molloy

Do you know that the difference between moderate and massive muscle growth depends upon what you are thinking while lifting weights and bodybuilding? What do you think about when you are lifting weights and bodybuilding?

Hull University in the United Kingdom did research on 30 weightlifters. Their findings show that muscles respond and grow more when the lifters were focused on what the muscles were doing rather than focusing on the weight that they were lifting.

These 30 weightlifters were to do bicep curls while their muscles were wired to monitors to study the electrical activity. While they were lifting they were asked to concentrate on the muscle and the activity of lifting. Then they were asked to concentrate on the weight and the up and down movement. What they found was that there was more muscle fiber activity taking place when they were concentrating on the muscle. More muscle fiber activity means more muscle growth.

Traditional thinking dictates that you focus on the goal, rather than on the activity. For instance a golfer who concentrates more on his muscle movements rather than the hole, which is his aim, will need to take more swings. Asking a baseball pitcher to concentrate on the activity of his muscles rather than the strike zone or catchers mitt, will cause him to perform more poorly than if he concentrated on throwing a strike. When you ask a sprinter to concentrate on his leg movements he will more than likely perform worse than if he concentrated on the finish line.

In all these situations, you must pay attention to your form, as this will aid you in reaching your goals more quickly. However, in general you must focus more on your actual goal. Studies prior to this conclude that by focusing on your goal, you can better achieve that goal.

After all this, it is essential that you ask yourself a vital question. What is your weightlifting goal? Is your goal muscle development or amount of weight lifted? If you attend a gym on a daily basis, you have more than likely noticed that most individuals focus primarily on the machine and the weight. You may have done this yourself. Do you pay attention to trying to get those weights moving or the number of repetitions you do? These studies show us that this should not be the focus you should keep.

The growth of your muscles is your goal and finish line. Sure, the numbers of reps you do are important, likewise using the machines correctly and properly lifting the weights. It is essential that you learn and practice the proper techniques. However, when learning the techniques you will reach a point where you do not think about how to do it. Before long, it becomes part of your nature to do them correctly. Once you have reached this point and with weightlifting, it really does not take very long, then you should focus on what your muscles are doing.

In the next few months of your workouts, do not focus on how hard it is to move weights or the difficulty of doing all your reps. Stop paying attention to others walking by and whether or not you impress them. Begin focusing on the muscle group you are working. Focus on actually building muscle. Begin watching what the muscle is doing. Focus your mind on how the muscle feels, its movements and how it reacts to various movements.

If you can do this, then you will see more rapid growth and progress and see that your muscle in your head makes all those other muscles work better, giving you the body that you want. - 17269

Are Vince Delmonte and No Nonsense Muscle Building a SCAM?

By Caitlin Ryan

There are reviews on No Nonsense Muscle Building that would have you believe that Vince Delmonte and Shannon Clark are behind a muscle-building scam. Are they? If you are frustrated with your current workout efforts because you have yet to produce six-pack abs and tone arms, then you had better read this review before you decide. Will Vince Delmonte and No Nonsense Muscle Building help YOU?

What if I told you Vince Delmonte was a scrawny looking fellow with a potbelly? You probably would not trust his muscle building advice, right? Well, no worries there. Vince is trim, toned and very muscular! He has a 10% body fat and is in tiptop shape. He is also a natural body builder meaning he does not use steroid or other chemical enhancements to achieve is stellar physique. As far as I know, he does not even use supplements.

Body building magazines that tout supplements are actually owned by the supplement companies. There is little validity in the supplement claims. The workouts in the magazines are full of myths and you may be disappointed to know that many of the workouts will not help you develop the sexy toned muscles you desire.

For instance, I used to use circuit training thinking that it was a great way to get a fast workout. Unfortunately, as Vince points out, your muscles do not have that ever-important recovery time in between sets. You will fail to build muscles this way. Vince's muscle building book exposes this and other myths that I have inadvertently used in working out.

Because I did not want to have bulging muscles, I have always used high reps with low weights. No Nonsense Muscle Building points out that this is wrong. Progressive overload is the ONLY way to go. You have to continually challenge your muscles by increasing weight if you want any results.

The way I was lifting, I was only developing endurance muscles that were long and skinny. There is no way that I would ever have triceps muscles like Sarah Jessica Parker. I would not develop those sexy curves at the back of my arms.

This fabulous muscle-building guide also explains how important it is to give your body recovery time in between sets as well as in between workouts. You do not want to push yourself without this muscle recovery time, and Vince has some great advice on how you can speed up recovery time through nutrition and other clever tips.

Clever nutritional advice and highly motivational tips are abundant in Vinces book. Interesting thoughts on clean eating and utilizing your own hormones to maximize results are also part of the program. No Nonsense Muscle Building comes with 8-10 bonuses or more. - 17269

Lose Weight Quickly With Fat Burning Foods

By Xylene Belita

You can lose weight if you try to include some fat burning foods in your everyday diet. Reach your goal of losing that extra 8 lbs in just two weeks. So what are fat burning foods? These fat burning foods contain calorie levels that are low enough that it requires more energy from the body when you eat and digest them. They are also known as negative calorie foods or fat fighting foods.

For example, celery is a negative calorie food. It does not contain enough calories to be able to digest it, so it takes energy from the body in order for it to be fully digested. Cold water has a negative calorie, too. Although water is a drink, you can consider it as a kind of food. Water has no calories at all and when you drink cold water, the body would need much more energy to bring it up to body temperature. So each time we drink a glass of cold water we burn up a little more calories and lose a little weight. But foods like this should be taken in moderation, and should be used wisely.

Anorexics are usually attracted to negative calorie foods. If used inappropriately, a negative calorie diet would result in starvation and nutritional deficiencies. The calories used to burn negative calorie foods will be taken from the body's muscle mass, and in effect will be really harmful to your health.

You can use a negative calorie diet in a healthy way by fasting or detox. You might even want to start a detox diet after big holidays such as Christmas, New Year or Thanksgiving when you have eaten so many fatty foods. A negative calorie diet is a great way to clean out your body's system, and you can do it for three days or so. However, be sure to get your doctor's approval before proceeding with this type of detox diet.

Read some important points to remember when on a negative calorie detox diet:

1. Never eat big quantities of one type of food, especially fruits. Some fruits contain substances that are bad to your body if you eat too much of it. For example, grapefruit and pineapple can damage your stomach lining. Other foods can cause diarrhea or burden your liver. It is better to eat all the different foods in small quantities.

Some examples of negative calorie fruits are: Apples, Blueberries, Cantaloupes, Cranberries, Grapefruit, Papayas, Pineapples, Prunes, Raspberries, Strawberries and Tangerines.

2. Never spend all day eating. You will only become bloated and feel unwell. You should plan four or five salad meals every day, and let your digestive system rest in between.

3. Try to eat slowly and chew your food thoroughly. You will use more calories that way. It is also better to eat the foods raw. Foods like carrots and beets will also be more satisfying if you grate them.

Some examples of negative calorie vegetables are: Asparagus, Beets, Broccoli, Carrot, Cauliflower, Celery stalk, Celery root, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Endives, Garden cress, Green beans, Green cabbage, Lamb's lettuce, Lettuce, Radishes, Spinach, Tomatoes, Turnips and Zucchini.

4. Be aware that fasting or any kind of detox diet, there may be some uncomfortable symptoms such as headaches, tiredness, depression and irritability. If the syptoms become worse, stop the detox diet and see your doctor immediately.

5. Gradually return to a normal diet by eating normal foods by the time you are at the end of your negative calorie detox diet.

Garlic and onions are also examples of fat fighting foods.
